DAGS Governing Body

Stewards of the Deployment AI Governance Standard

Our Mandate

The DAGS Governing Body is responsible for the stewardship, maintenance, and authoritative interpretation of the Deployment AI Governance Standard. Its mandate is to preserve the integrity of the standard’s deployment-layer controls and ensure their consistent meaning, scope, and applicability over time.

AI deployment layer failure is common because reality is messy.

The Standard

DAGS defines the normative controls required to govern AI at the point of deployment—where systems are integrated, configured, operated, and exposed to real-world risk. It addresses how AI is actually used in production, rather than how models are trained or organizations are structured.

What DAGS Governs

Most AI governance frameworks stop before systems meet reality.

Defining the Standard

Authority

The DAGS Governing Body retains sole interpretive authority over the standard, including its scope, requirements, and meaning. It maintains the canonical text, manages versioning, and issues authoritative clarifications; it does not provide consulting, certification, or implementation services.

By leaving deployment risk ungoverned, they create a critical gap. DAGS defines the controls that close it.

Relationship to Service Providers

DAGS is independent of any consulting, assessment, or implementation services. Service providers may reference or apply the standard, but they do not define it, interpret it, or act on behalf of the Governing Body.

Independent,
Standards-First,
Not a Consulting Firm.

Other AI governance frameworks end pre-market. DAGS governs what happens post-market.

DAGS is an independent normative standard that defines the deployment-layer controls required to govern AI systems in real-world operation.
